Monday Gratitude List

This week I'm especially thankful for:

1. Indian Summers

2. this blog and how it has encouraged me to make time for things I enjoy,(like reading and writing more consistently).

3. all of you who visit this blog...It means so much to me that people I know and don't know respond to this blog.

Tell me what you're thankful for. I'm curious. Send a comment. Happy Monday.

I'm thankful that I didn't get a ticket for my inspection being overdue. There was a checkpoint and the officer told me. I really had no idea. I wish they made the stickers so you could read the date from the inside of your car!

These may sound silly, but this week I'm thankful:

- that the rain has finally stopped falling here in north Georgia (several people have died in the record flooding)

- that my dog is recovering nicely from his physical problem (an emergency visit to the vet last week)

- that my oldest son turned 45

- that I received $100 that I didn't expect (I really needed that $100)

- that I have made new friends through blogging

Hi Mr. Brague, Oh wow, I didn't realize how bad the rain was down there! I don't watch much news these days, unless it's on the PBS Kids channel. I'm glad you and Mrs. RWP are alright. Elizabeth, you got off using beauty and charm, way to go, girl friend.

There are brief moments when I wish my two year old was 45.

I was under the impressionthat Putz that you are 67 (one year younger than me) and that's certainly old enough to have a 45-year-old-son! If he didn't get started having children until he was older, well, whose fault is that?

Our town received 17 inches of rain. Fortunately, we live near the top of a hill and not in a valley.

Oh yes, Indian summers. :) Enjoying that here too! And for a day without work to hopefully get the house cleaned up...

Dear Internet Traveler,

Welcome to my writer's blog, started about six years ago for fun. Over time, the writing I have posted has ranged from personal reflection, to Long Island history research, to tall tales for my own amusement, to feature articles for local newspapers. As you can see from topics listed here, I travel in many mental directions in regard to interests. Click on the tabs and labels to explore my strange mind which senses that you may be having a criss-cross day. If so, perhaps this blog will distract you. However, please note that if you tell me my blog is beautiful just to get me to advertise rhinoplasty surgery and cheap drugs from Canada in your comment, I will ask the gods to give you a tail that cannot be concealed.

Fondly,

Loren Christie
