Gratitude List

It's important to take time out to be mindful of the blessings in life. This week, as always, I am thankful for family, friends, health, etc. I came across this gratitude prayer today that I'd like to share with you.

My Help, My Hope Psalm 121

I lift my eyes to you
my help, my hope
the heavens (who could imagine?)
the earth (only our Lord)
the infinite starry spaces
the world's teeming breadth
All this. I lift my eyes
-upstart, delighted-
and I praise.

-Daniel Berrigan SJ

Tell me what you are thankful for...

i am thankful for books, and my own writings....have stopped caring for the downtrodden, those prisoners in jail, the hungry, the sick, and have started to concentrate on ME....i am so wanting to be publish that nothing else matters to me now....not the poor in heart, those clamoring to be born or fed or clothed or housed

Gratitude today for SSgt. Keith Bishop - a son, brother and husband who gave his live in Afghanistan defending the ideals of freedom. I stood as best man at his sister's wedding and have known the Bishop family for many years. Ona day where many (including myself) are celebrating the Yankees' 27th World Series win, it is important that we remember who the real MVPs are. Prayers and thanks to our soldiers everywhere.

Beautiful prayer! I love it! I am thankful this week that I didn't catch the yucky cold that was going around the group of teachers I work with. I stayed healthy! I am thankful for my health and of course my husband and my family. I am also thankful for music that makes my soul smile. :)

Hi Caity, Nice to hear from you. I have that yucky cold you speak of, and I have not felt like writing because of it. The Christie kids are sick too, and Milk Man is certainly doomed. But I am thankful that having a cold can be cozy in an odd way, when it is only a cold.

Dear Internet Traveler,

Welcome to my writer's blog, started about six years ago for fun. Over time, the writing I have posted has ranged from personal reflection, to Long Island history research, to tall tales for my own amusement, to feature articles for local newspapers. As you can see from topics listed here, I travel in many mental directions in regard to interests. Click on the tabs and labels to explore my strange mind which senses that you may be having a criss-cross day. If so, perhaps this blog will distract you. However, please note that if you tell me my blog is beautiful just to get me to advertise rhinoplasty surgery and cheap drugs from Canada in your comment, I will ask the gods to give you a tail that cannot be concealed.

Fondly,

Loren Christie
